SLAVE LAKE, ALBERTA — The Service Canada Centre in Slave Lake, closed since May 15, 2011, due to the spread of wildfires, has now reopened. Mr. Brian Jean, Member of Parliament for Fort McMurray – Athabasca, made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development.

“I am pleased to announce that with the reopening of the Centre, Slave Lake residents will continue to receive easy, convenient access to a wide range of federal programs and services,” said MP Brian Jean.

During the evacuation, Service Canada employees worked with the community to provide programs, services, support and communications using temporary outreach Centres.

The Slave Lake Service Canada Centre is ready to provide residents of the Slave Lake area with easy, convenient access to a wide range of federal government programs and services including: Social Insurance Numbers (SIN), Employment Insurance (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS) and services for youth in the summer months.
