OTTAWA – Today marked the return of Members of Parliament to Ottawa, as they begin what promises to be an exciting spring session of Parliament. Of those most enthusiastic about their return is local MP Brian Jean.
Mr. Jean will be resuming his Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities duties, as well as continuing to sit on the corresponding Transport committee. In addition to these responsibilities, he has been appointed to sit on the highly anticipated Bill C-30 committee, studying the “Act to amend the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, the Energy Efficiency Act and the Motor Vehicle Fuel Consumption Standards Act (Canada's Clean Air Act).”
“I am happy to be back in Ottawa and am looking forward to returning to my Parliamentary Secretary and committee business, as well as examining Bill C-30, Canada’s Clean Air Act. Above that, I am anxious to continue forwarding my riding agenda, and working to resolve the many issues our region faces, such as housing and infrastructure shortages,” says Jean.
With the resumption of the spring session, Canada’s New Government will continue to advance its core priorities; accountability, security, environmental protection and economic management.
