In 2010, 61 people were killed and 7,707 people were injured in collisions at intersections in Alberta. Many of these types of collisions are preventable - about 90% of collisions are attributed to driver error.

- Always look before proceeding through intersections, regardless of the traffic light colour.
- Be prepared for the unexpected and share the road safely.
Tips for Pedestrians:
- POINT, PAUSE, and PROCEED. Be alert at any intersection and always keep an eye open for dangers when crossing the street.
- Make eye contact with drivers before you cross the street.
- Abide by traffic signs and signals. They are in place to protect your safety.
