Thank you for your confidence and for the privilege of returning as your voice in Ottawa. It has been a busy five weeks. I would like to congratulate each of the other candidates on a good campaign and a special thanks to every Northern Albertan who came out and met with me, to tell me their concerns and to ask questions about where we go from here.
As you are aware, I was not in favour of this election but the positive side is that I’ve had the opportunity to travel the riding and hear from constituents. I’ve heard people express opinions on many topics, but the one thing that all Northern Albertans are concerned about is keeping our economy growing and balancing our budget. Now that you’ve given our Conservative government the mandate to do that, we will roll up our sleeves and get back at it.
I encourage you to write or email me with your comments and concerns.

Keeping Canada’s Economy on the Right Track
Statistics Canada announced today that over 58,000 net new jobs were created in April.
· This week Canadians chose a strong, stable, national Conservative majority government focused on what matters – Canada’s economic recovery and creating more jobs.
· Canada has created nearly 540,000 jobs since July 2009, and our economy has grown for six straight quarters.
· Canada’s continued job growth once again shows our Government is on the right track for Canadian families.
· But we need to stay the course with our prudent, low-tax plan to protect and create jobs, as too many Canadians are still looking for work and the global economic recovery still remains fragile.
· That’s why our priority when Parliament returns will be the introduction and passage of the Next Phase of Canada’s Economic Action Plan: A Low-Tax Plan for Jobs and Growth to keep Canada’s economy and job growth on track.
